Today I am sharing my African Violet again and my Phalaenopsis orchid plant too. My orchid bloomed last fall and I am hoping I can get it to bloom again this fall. In my post last week I mentioned that I was waiting for a special plant light for my African Violet. It arrived and I set it up. It is really cool. It has prongs that go in the soil to tell you when the plant needs water, the light is like sunlight and it changes seasons with lengthening and shortening the days according to each season. That is how I am hoping to get my orchid to bloom. That is one of the secrets to success with them is the changes in light according to the season. I was able to get this wonderful light because a dear friend sent me a gift certificate for Amazon.com for my birthday and I ordered it from their website.
Here are the settings for the seasons and watering needs on the back of the light.
