Second Anniversary

Today I am celebrating my 2nd Anniversary of blogging. I have done my first post again. I remember being so excited one night when I woke up in the middle of the night and the thought struck me to start my own blog. I was so excited and had already planned a couple of posts in my head. In the morning I talked it over with Rich and he thought it was a great idea. I just wanted to share my life and what the wonderful things that God has done for us. I also wanted to keep a record for Mary so that when she got older she would know the stories of the goodness of the Lord in our lives. Last year I did put my posts into a book form and I plan on doing this every year. Over about a 6 month period of time, I got to know some wonderful Christian ladies here in the US and overseas. They have been such a joy to me, just to hear about their lives, share in their joys and struggles and be encouraged by their sweet comments and it has been wonderful to remember them in prayer and encourage them! Thank you all you sweet gals, you bring so much joy into my lives each day! Here is the original slide show that was the first post on my blog:

Oh What a Honey!

I just love my hubby! He sent me a dozen red roses this last week as a "just because".

On Saturday he did a bunch of "Honey Do" things. He replaced some bad boards in our fence.

Put up a new back porch light.

He made up a wonderful marinade recipe and bar-b-qued some pork shoulder chops on our grill. He also cleaned up our grill, got new lava rocks and grates and had more propane put in the tank. He took down our green house for the summer last weekend and it is so nice to have our patio and bar-b-que all set up for the summer!

He also was on call this weekend and while he was out on a job, I took Mary to a local drug store and we found some beautiful paper lanterns with battery powered bulbs to light them. I hung them in her room and she was so delighted. I love paper lanterns there is just something so magical about them.

Here is a shot of them lit in her room at night. I also put some up in our yard cabana.

We had a wonderful weekend together! We have so much fun doing simple things together and being so in love and enjoying our baby girl!

In the Garden

My mom loved flowers and spent many hours working in her garden at home. She loved for us as a family to get all dressed up for church or special occasions and then go and take pictures in the garden next to what ever was in full bloom. She loved to travel and see beautiful gardens. Her favorite was the Buchard Gardens in Canada. One day God gave mom a dream about heaven and she told us about it many times. She was walking outside the walls of heaven and they were thick but crystal clear. She could see people walking around and these little children were climbing up into trees and jumping into a river below and just laughing and playing without any fear. When she reached the gates it was so bright that she couldn’t look up. All she could see were a man’s glowing feet. She heard a voice ask her why she was there and she said that she knew Jesus. At that moment the gates swung open and she was able to enter. When she got inside she didn’t see a soul. Flower fields stretched out as far as she could see and she just walked through the fields with her arms stretched out, touching the flowers as she went. She said that every breath she took was so deep and full. The air of heaven was filling her with such wonderful vitality.

Beautiful Oregon

Here are some pictures that were taken in an ultra light plane (n0t my me!!) They show some of the beauty of Oregon. These are all in Eastern Oregon. I may be a little bit prejudiced, but I think Oregon is the most beautiful state! LOL. The Lord's creation is so amazing and His mighty power and love is expressed so wonderfully in it. I hope you enjoy a few glimpses of my home state!

Look Mom I'm Kicking!!

Mary has really been enjoying the spring weather. She has been doing a lot of kick ball. She has pretty good athletic ability for a 3 year old. She doesn't get that from me, that's all from her dad! It is so fun to watch her run and play.

Bloomin' Tuesday

I keep all my azalea plants in our greenhouse through the winter, so they bloom a little sooner than the azalea plants that are outside all winter. Last week I moved all my azalea plants out in front of our house. It is northern exposure there, so they do really well there until fall when I move them back into our greenhouse. My latest addition is the bright pick azalea tree that I have on the front step. My in-laws gave it to us for Easter.

Home Town Parade

We had a fun day on Saturday. We went to see our annual home town parade. It was Mary's first time. I was in the parade when I when in high school. I played the clarinet in the marching band for Junior High and High School. I also have many fond memories of watching this parade when I was a child. Here is video of some of the highlights of our day on Saturday.
