Girly Fun!!

I had some girly fun this weekend. Mary wanted her toe nails painted so I did it for her for the first time and she just loved it!! I also made her a little skirt from a curtain valance that I got a garage sale for 25 cents. I also sewed on some little bells and I told her it was her fairy skirt. She really likes the bells. It is so fun to have a little girl and do all those frilly and fun things. She definitely is all girl. She has taken to wanting to put on dresses all the time. Of course I am eating all this up!! We had another lovely weekend and we are enjoying the fall weather. It has finally really cooled down. Rich will be buying the supplies we need to put up our greenhouse for the winter. He plans to expand it so we can have a few more plants in there. So I am really excited about that. I hope all of you are having a great week. The LOrd bless and keep you all!

Welcome Autumn to our Home!

I finally got out and dusted off my fall decorations and put them up in the kitchen. I decorated around our fish tank as it is next to our table. The angel fish were a little nervous of the big orange pumpkin sitting by them, but they got used to it! We had a wonderful weekend. I went to some garage sales in our neighborhood and got some killer deals. I got full length sheer curtains for our patio door for $2 and a bed rail for Mary when she moves into her big bed for $2. Then I got $150 worth of Little People sets for $5 for Mary! I also got a beautiful silk arrangement, a hat and little brown Uhg slippers for Mary. I had been planning on buying the curtains and the bed rail new but I was so pleased to find them so cheap and in such good condition. I just thanked the Lord for His goodness! The only other big event was that there was a wildfire on a near by mountainside that was near our church property. It burned about 600 acres but thankfully no homes were burned or people injured and the church property was not effected. It broke out in a fairly large subdivision so it was an answer to prayer that there was minimal damage. I will leave you with a video of Mary and her pumpkin she picked out at the store the other day. Have a wonderful week my friends! You all are so very dear to my heart!

Show and Tell Friday

Today is Show and Tell Friday. It is hosted by Kelli and you can enjoy more Show and Tell posts by going here. I was looking around my house the other day and realized I had quite a sunflower theme going. So, I thought I would share them. Here is a sunflower growth chart I have for my Mary girl and as you can see she is just sprouting up so big and tall (a little too fast for mommmy).

My husband bought this hand painted sun catcher for me last summer as a "just because" gift.

I have these place mats on my table.

I have had this little bird house and sunflower on my kitchen window sill for several years.

I even grew a real live sunflower in my garden this year!

Thank you for letting me share my sunflowers. Have a blessed Friday!

Bloomin' Tuesday

Today is Bloomin' Tuesday. To see more fun posts about what's bloomin' at other blogs go to Jean's blog here.
I have been having a lot of Cosmos blooming. I have white ones and lavender ones. The lavender ones came up volunteer from last years plants. I picked a bouquet of them for Mary to enjoy.

I hope you have a wonderful day!

Saturday in the Park

Our thing lately is the park! We just have so much fun going and watching Mary play. The nice weather will be fading soon and winter will be settling in. So, we are taking advantage of the time we have. Have a wonderful Sunday dear friends!

In the Garden

I was in our guest bedroom with Mary. I was busy putting shelves in a small bookcase that I had bought at a garage sale when my husband put his head through the door. He pointed to the small cooler in his hand and said, "You know Honey we could put some cokes and snacks in here and go to the park." It was Labor Day and beautiful weather! I said, "That would be wonderful Sweetheart and I made quick work of packing up our stuff and getting Mary ready. We took Mary's red wagon and our lunch and headed for my favorite park a few towns away. When we drove into the park this scene greeted us. A mother dear with her twin fawns!
Rich pulled Mary in her wagon down to the duck pond ....

...to visit the ducks.

Near the creek we had a pic-nic lunch

(For those of you who are getting this post via e-mail you will need to go to my blog to view the video.)

Afterwards Mary had so much fun playing in the playground.

I just love this place. I have loved it all my life, in fact my life began here. My folks were staying in a small trailer park that used to be part of the park when my mom discovered that she was expecting me! I have many lovely childhood memories here of wading in the creek, playing in the playground with my older brother and sisters. I went to college in this town so I had many lovely walks through the trees and I graduated from college at the band shell in the center of this park. I am so happy that Mary will have fun memories here too. It is like a beautiful garden and I am so thankful that my husband was so sweet to want to go on the spur of the moment and celebrate the beautiful weather and our family!

That Takes the Cake!

The cake I baked for Rich was a chocolate and raspberry affair! I baked a chocolate cake with a whole package of chocolate chips in the batter. Then I put chocolate raspberry mouse filling between the layers. Then I frosted it with chocolate frosting and decorated it with fresh raspberries and Baily's Irish Cream chocolates. Did I mention it had chocolate in it!! It turned out pretty yummy. Mary had so much fun watching me decorate it and helping me by sampling the chocolate frosting. We lost the video of her helping. Somehow it didn't get saved to our hard drive correctly before we erased it off the camera. Oh well that is how it goes! But I did get a few shots of her with it.

My helper

Happy Birthday Daddy (or I want a big bite)!

Since we lost the video of her with the cake I have included a few video clips as a blast from the past. I am just so amazed how much she has grown in these 3 short years. I hope you all have a wonderful and blessed Labor Day weekend!

Celebrating You!

Today is my husband's birthday and I have put together a slide show in his tribute. I think he was such a cute little guy and wow he is so handsome now, but more importantly is that he has a heart of gold and loves the Lord with all his heart. I couldn't ask for anything better. I love you baby and this is for you!
