Beautiful Day Trip

We took a day trip over to the coast recently.  We went on a Monday and it was so beautiful and not crowded.  We had never seen Ocean World in Crescent City.  It was the old Under Sea Gardens that was around when we were kids.  We didn't go because Mom said it was just a tourist trap. lol  Anyway they moved it up on land and have a tidal pool area where kids can touch and feel the tidal pool animals, then huge aquariums with all the local fish and ocean animals.  The high light was the seal show.  Mary got such a kick out of all of it.  It was her first time to see anything like this and she drank it all in.  We had packed a big lunch with homemade goodies and fruit and we drove up to Jedediah State Park and had a pic-nic there.  After lunch we walked down to the river and picked up stones and small pieces of wood for Mary to use in her fairy garden that she is making at home.  It was such a lovely day.  We couldn't of ordered better weather.  It was clear and 75 degrees!  Maybe in a few years we will get a used small motor home that Rich and I can fix up and we can stay a few nights in the camp ground.  We love daydreaming about that.  We are so blessed to be so close to so many beautiful places!

Another Milestone

Mary learned to ride her bike without training wheels this week.  The bike she had for the last couple of years was too small for her last year and she is growing so fast.  So, we sold it to a friend and with her money she bought a new bigger bike but by the time that all took place it was in the height of the heat and too warm to be chasing after her and helping her get her balance.  So she got it out a couple weeks ago and on her 3rd time of getting used to it without training wheels, she just took off.  She was ready and did it so naturally.  It was such a fun moment to see her take off.
