Easter 2018

Mary had so much fun decorating some Easter eggs this year.  She is such a wonderful artist and has so much fun doing it!

For her Easter basket this year I included a lot of gardening things like iris bulbs, flower seeds, gloves and a bulb planting tool.  She is so looking forward to having chickens this fall.  So I got her a book called "How to Speak Chicken"  It is a great book and she read through it twice.

I baked an carrot cake and Mary helped me decorate it.  We are grinding our own flour now, so we are experimenting with different kinds of flour like corn, pinto bean, and rice.  We have been using our home ground flour in our starter and it has really kicked it up a notch with more bubbling and more of that sour smell which means for wonderful probiotic activity.  I added some starter to this cake and it turned out so good.

Rich snapped a pic of Mary and I on Easter morning.  Mary looks really tall here because she has on some heels.  I think she is 5'3 or 5'4" now.

We all gathered at Rich's folks house.  So wonderful to have friends and family to share the meal!  We had roast lamb, brussel sprouts, scalloped potatoes and salad.
With carrot cake for dessert.
Mary got to hunt her decorated eggs.  She is growing up so fast but still enjoys egg hunt and really loves deviled eggs.
Her and her sweet grandma!

It was such a lovely day!  Dark blue sky and big puffy clouds!
Seeing the clouds makes me think of the Lord's return!  So thankful for this Easter Day and remembering all that Jesus has done and will do for us!!
