Halloween Pumpkins

Mary made a really cool pumpkin this year.  The colors light up at night.  This is the pumpkin she grew from seed this Spring!

This just cracked me up because it reminded me of our little Mackie boy!

Happy Birthday Mary!

My Dear Mary Girl,

Today you turn 5 years old and it just doesn't seem possible that many years have passed since the day you were born. Today as I write this, it is the day before you were born and the weather is exactly like it was that day, bright and sunny, just like your sweet little personality. You have always been quick to smile and you love to kid around, tease and laugh. You have been doing so many amazing things this year. You started ballet class in February and you are doing so well. I just love dressing you up in your tights, leotard and tutu and putting you hair up and planting a bow in your curls. You hair is curly brown with blond highlights and reaches to your waist. I tie it up each day in a bun with clips and that keeps it so soft and strong so that it does not brake as easily and it really has paid off! You write your name, all your numbers and you are starting to read 3 and 4 letter words. I started homeschooling you this fall and it has been wonderful. You ask to do your work sheets and love all the activities. This summer we got your cute little puppy, Mac. He has been a handful but a lot of fun. You begged us for many months for a puppy and we finally found just the right one. We all enjoy him and you tell us how cute he is and how much you love him. You are so quick to tell us that you love us and give us kisses. You love people, saying hello to people and talking to perfect strangers if they have the time. You like being the center of attention and have a happy go lucky and extrovert disposition. You are a Sanguine:) You have a very creative mind. You like to paint and draw and are quite good at it. You watch movies and cartoons and then make them your own by putting yourself in similar stories and adventures. You also love animals and you have a great interest when it comes to shows that tell about wild life. You have entered a very independent stage and one of your favorite things to say is, "I can do it." You are a big helper and the other night you cracked a dozen walnuts all by yourself and got the meats (you can it chicken) out of the shells. We love how you love to play with words and rhyme and have fun with changing words around. You are asking me all the time what certain words mean. You love to say your bedtime prayers and ask me about heaven and have told me that you love Jesus! I hope you have a wonderful day as we remember the day that our Lord gave you to us to love and raise.

Happy Birthday Sweetheart!

Number Gallery

Mary did her first preschool project.  She is learning all about numbers.  So, one of the projects it to use items around the house to make a number gallery.  She wrote the numbers on the back of each piece of paper and then glued the right amount of items for each number.  Then pin the papers on the wall like art in a gallery and invite friends and family to view her gallery.  So, we are inviting you to view her project as she presents it to you!

Puppy Play Date

Yesterday was glorious weather. We have been having such wonderful fall weather! A friend from our church has the cutest little brown poodles and she brought them over to our house for a puppy play date. Mary loves to get in the action too! This is their second play date. Mac warmed up a little bit more this time, but he still didn't play much, he just watched. The little dogs love to play with the small Frisbees and tennis balls. Here are a few pics of our day and some video too!

My Little Ones

A friend on facebook posted this about today. October 15th is Pregnancy and Infant Loss Day. Light a candle at 7pm your time in honor of a baby lost to miscarriage, stillbirth, or early infant death. http://www.october15th.com/

Rich and I lost a little boy early in pregnancy before we had Mary. I have always loved this picture and I looked at it again today and realized it is my two sweet babies. One I have in heaven and one I have with me.

Here is a link to a song that is so wonderful: http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=fUZkjbYaKPA

Mary Loves to Dance

I took this picture of Mary's little leather ballet slippers the other night.  It is just a little snapshot in time reminding me of her little dancing feet and how they love to move to the music in her life.

Homeschooling Begins!

Yesterday marked the beginning of our homeschooling adventure.  Mary and I had so much fun.  I am starting out on the Team Umizoomi Math packet.  She loves the work book and is doing great.  She is already adding and subtracting.  We learned to count from 10 backwards to 1.  Then we would blow party horns and pretend we were celebrating New Year's Eve.  She had a lot of fun doing that.  They have so many wonderful and creative ways to teach kids basic skills.  I am looking forward to working with her each day.  She is just at the right age to start and her little mind is very quick and she is so eager to learn.  I love being her mommy and her teacher!

She told me that when she sticks her tongue out to the side that it helps her color better.  So, I had to take a picture  :)

Funny Little Mac

We have been having a lot of fun and laughter with our little dog.  He is such a character.  I have posted a couple videos of him doing his funny antics and tricks.  We are amazed what a smart little dog he is and how quickly he learns tricks.  Mary has had a lot of fun helping him learn his tricks.  I think it is so good for her to have a dog that she can play with and learn how to train.

Fall Candy

These candy acorns are fun to make.  Mary helped me put them together last night.  All you need is Nutter Butter Bites, Dark Chocolate Kisses and Chocolate icing.  Just a sweet little treat for Fall time!

Mr. Hopeful

Mac is waiting for his treat.  If he waits patiently in his bed while we are eating, he gets a treat from Rich when we are done.  It's so cute, he sits right there the whole time Rich is getting it ready, never taking his eyes off Rich, following every move.  His little body shivers with anticipation but he doesn't move from his spot.
