On Sunday morning, Rich and I were singing the first song in worship service and really sweet lady in our church walked up and handed us a large bag of clothing for Mary. Later when we looked inside the bag it was 7 beautiful dresses. They were all second hand but in mint condition! Mary had so much fun (along with Mommy!) trying them all on and showing Daddy how they looked. She loved them all but her favorite was the one she is wearing in the photos. She danced around in it saying she was in her party dress. She is such a girly girl. Grandma had gotten her some tinted chap stick on Sunday and she must of put on 30 layers of it on her lips, asking how she looked each time. When we told her she looked beautiful she took a little bow. LOL We are so thankful for the lovely people in our church. They have been so kind and friendly to us. What a blessing they are!!

Bloomin' Tuesday
Today is Bloomin' Tuesday! For more fun posts go to Jean's blog here. I'm showing an African Violet that my hubby bought me for my birthday. I have not had an African Violet in a long time because of being busy with Mary and not having a really good place for one in the house. When I was a teen I had about 30 of them in my room. I had a special grow light with a timer and a table with several tiers to set them all up on. I had all colors and shapes. I have ordered a special plant light for this one I just received. It has on a timer and changes length of light with the seasons. This also was a birthday present also and I am very excited to get it. Wednesday, March 17, 2010

Bunny Lane
Sunday Mary was sick with a cold and we did not make it to church. So I set up Bunny Lane and Mary helped. It is a heavy paper punch out made by Hallmark. It was so delightful to put it together. Mary had a lot of fun. I know she really missed going to Sunday School. So this was a really fun activity for her.
Finally here is a picture of my real bunny that I had about 18 years ago (wow it has been that long!) Anyway she was a delightful little lop eared bunny that I named Peaches. Some day we will get a live bunny for Mary but for now she will have to have Bunny Lane!Thursday, March 11, 2010

Fun with Paper Folding
Mary and I had fun the other day with Origami. I made her a crane, flying bird and fluttering butterfly. I have always loved Origami. My first experience with it was back in 5th grade. My best girlfriend's mom was Japanese and she taught me how to fold the flying bird. I memorized the folds and made hundreds of them. I remembered that fold for a long time entertaining my niece and nephew and different friend's kids down through the years. Then for a number of years I did not make any flying birds, so I forgot how to do it. Rich gave me this Origami book for Christmas and it had instructions for a crane that is very similar to the bird. So I was so glad to have my memory sparked and I was able to fold the flying bird again. Here are some pictures and a video of our fun.

Golden Freesia
Yesterday I brought my freesia plant out of our greenhouse and put it on our table. I just love the sweet, rich fragrance it gives. Freesia comes from South Africa. They are a bulb that requires a warm climate. So, they do well in our greenhouse for the winter and I put it outside in the spring when the frost danger is over. This its 3rd season and is doing well. I used freesia flowers a lot when I worked as a florist in spring bouquets and just loved them. I was so pleased to grow a plant of my own!

Double Delight
Saturday morning my husband was fixing breakfast. I heard him crack the eggs and say,"Wow!" each time. I asked him what was up and he said come here and see this! They were all double yokes. I just bought a dozen large eggs at the grocery store, nothing special. Rich was joking around and calling it our Chernobyl breakfast. lol They sure were delicious. I've never had that happen before. I have had one be a double but not four. A very happy chicken must of laid those eggs!
